Our Parsippany office was buzzing with energy and enthusiasm last week as we welcomed more than 30 children for our annual Take Your Child to Work Day celebration.
The children took part in a range of hands-on activities designed to make learning both fun and accessible, and brought science to life.
After a warm welcome breakfast in our bistro, the children headed into our labs. There, QC Analytical and QC Micro teams led interactive demonstrations where participants became budding scientists, conducting experiments which provided a glimpse into the magic of pharmaceutical research and development.
Next, the children ventured behind the scenes for a tour of our Mailroom. Participants saw our postage machine in action and got a behind the scenes look at office operations. Our Safety & Security team then engaged the children in an interactive “Observe and Report” session. Through hands-on observation challenges, kids learned the importance of staying alert, trusting their instincts, and how to report unusual activity, earning certificates and wristbands along the way.
Purvi Tailor, Vice President, Human Resources, then led a session focused on creativity and connection. Children worked together to design imaginative breakfast and lunch menus while brainstorming outdoor play ideas. Following lunch, the children headed outdoors for some more fun. There they were treated to an up-close look at our very own apiary, with a real hive tray safely displayed in the bistro, showcasing the intricate world of bees. Ferring team members guided the children through the experience, safely returning the bees to their apiary home. The day concluded on a sweet note with a cupcake decorating activity, sending everyone home with a smile and a delicious treat.
Throughout the day, the children were encouraged to explore new interests, ask questions and have fun. As much fun as the children had, our parents and colleagues perhaps had more. Experiencing their joy was a reminder that all of us can bring more childlike wonder into our day to day.
Whether our young guests choose to work in healthcare someday or something perhaps not yet known, we’re proud to support our families and community and inspire the next generation of leaders.
